Plot: The only survivor from the original film, returns seeking revenge and unleashing supernatural demons.
Wholly entertaining and far more accurate than the first part,Raimi is aware we need a punch in the stomach..just for laughs and horrors.
It seems that most prefer this one over the first one. I generally liked "Evil Dead 2"; it was a blast! Only, having less blood and gore and more comical madness was a letdown for me. The story is definitely better. It's because of this that I see it as equally great as "The Evil Dead."
lol the forst one was so funny cause it was one of the old scary movies so it sucked and wasnt scary but was real funny
I Saw This Film At A Slumber Party And While Every One Was Scared I Was Laughing It Was So Ph^&king Good But Sadly It Wasn't As Good As The First Two Installment's
there's an evil dead 2!!??? haha thats so funny...the first one was absolutely terrible, i can only imagine how bad the grafics are in a second one
comical, not very frighting. The first Evil Dead scared the crap out of me, and i still will not watch Evil Dead by myself
Classic movie. almost a remake of the first film, with a few variations and a bigger budget...oh yeah, and Bruce Campbell's in it!
I will never understand why "Low Budget" and "Zombies" = "Good Film".
To me it screams "Save more money then" "Don't make a shit film cos your make up budget is so wank" and "no - this is crap"
The movie started out as a stupid remake, but it actually turned really entertaining with all the ridiculous violence. I loved it.
So I still don't get why he went back to the cabin... and why he brought another girlfriend with him. Oh well, if you can overlook the plot holes between movies, its all good. Plus I will watch anything with Bruce Campbell in it.
Wow. The first one was like a rough draft for this one. Unpredictable and full of totally, absolutely unnecessarily fancy camera tricks and animation. Fantastic and indulgent!
ooooeeerrrr yes the eveil dead films ihave seen not for kidz though very scary even for me lol yer right !!!!!!!
a great bridge between The Evil Dead and Army of Darkness, which I felt were two polar opposite movies.
My favorite movie of all time. Bruce Campbell is awesome in this and gives an excellent performance as the ultimate hero, Ash . I thought the coolest part was when he constructed the chainsaw to fit where his right hand used to be. I love the effects and the story. Ash is my favorite hero of all time and the ultimate Horror hero of all time, hands down. After watching this, Bruce Campbell has become my favorite actor of all time. I also believe this is the best of the trilogy.
As if Evil Dead wasn't good enough, they had to top it with EVil Dead II. The many turns of Ash are great and the scene with him fighting his hand is worth it alone.
The Three Stooges of horror films, this independent Sam Raimi flick (Spider Man 1, 2, 3, The Quick and the Dead) from 1987 has a small budget but produces big laughs. This is one of the most entertaining movies I've ever seen. Bruce Campbell does ...(read more)the best 'possessed hand' bit dedicated to celluloid.
Better than the first althought it is not really a sequel more like a remake with a bigger budget and a better script. This film is hilarious and gorey. Bruce Campbell is excellent in this.
Evil Dead 2 might not be fine art, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun. So fun it is. In this installment of the trilogy, it is more laughs than scares as Ash takes down the dead one by one (in a very gory, yet hysterical way). Raimis film work is also wacky and fresh, with akward camera angles around each turn. As for Bruce Campbells performance, it is a little corny at times, but still great. Of course, however, the story is a little bit to wacky for its own good at times (The ending is a good example of this...), making the movie fall down in quality. In all, this sequel outshines the original and is good, campy fun. Groovy.
awesome movie. I liked how this took place right after the 1st one. I liked the many famous one liners that ash says in this too.
evil dead 2 is an awesome horror movie comedy.
a brilliant movie that manages to scare and make you laugh (in a good way) all th way thu.. The laughing moose head has stayed with me for years lol.
fantastic film, Bruce Campbell versus His Own Hand deserved an oscar for best choreography alone, not to mention it's just fabulous fun.
It was terrrible. 1 star for a cut off hand giving its former body the finger and for a replacement hand using a chainsaw. Other than that it was shit.
Still fun and disgusting, it's a piece of crap better than the first one. The beginning was a cheap recap, but the ending is an enjoyable surprise. There may be hope in that third one... ;)
