Eddie murphy like always, will be the best entertainer for you. Secondly the most important message in this film is that, it is not an obvious thing that if sum1 from any other planet or galaxy iz visiting ur planet ... they are doing so for any ditructive reason ... there can be any gud reason for that ..!

MCT:September 1, 2008Meet Dave was a funny movie if you like weird dumb outer space type of movies. It really had no point to it and the story was out there. It was not very entertaining. It was very short but if it was longer we would have been forced to leave. From the very beginning of the movie you will find yourself bored. Don't go to see this movie. Definitely save your money. INstead of laughing with the movie you will be laughing at it. There were pretty much no funny scenes that will make you laugh out loud. THere was just a few giggles thrown into it. I didn't have high hopes going into this movie to begin with. The acting was actually played pretty well by Eddie Murphy and Elizabeth Banks. If you want a stupid movie with very few laughs and a time waster then go to see this. Overall a stupid comedy movie that was a waste of time and money. It had very few good moments and a little bit of meaning. The only good things really in this movie were the visuals.

The movie that finally says the truth about the career of Eddie Murphy. Dude you are finished in Hollywood. Please retire or do some good tv serie, but stay away from this crappy movie.
How can they put 60 million in this movie and only got 5 million back from the box office. Worse acting, Special effects and directing. Please give my money back! -

I watched this flick last week, just forgot to rate it.. =-S Some parts of the flick was pretty funny, so I give it 2-stars.. if it wasn't for those funny scenes it would gotten 1,5-stars at most! So it wasn't really worth watching! -

I sat in the theater so absolutely stunned by this ridiculous, boring disjointed rot of a movie. I just could not believe that any person could have give this trip the green light. Not since The Mist has a movie been so badly written, acted and directed and I find it astonishing that anyone liked it. One of the other commenter's stated that the people in the theater were laughing and clapping??? I don't know what theater he goes to, but it must have been filled with escaped mental patients with sever vision and hearing impairment.
It is so sad to see huge amounts of money being pumped in to create such garbage whilst people starve around the world. I feel quite perturbed that these Hollywood movie makers have such low respect for their audiences, what is wrong with them.
Just an example of the stupidity in this movie
1) Eddie and the lady are thrown from huge Dave and hit the concrete after falling like, 100 metres and were fine! 2) that extremely irritating bursting out of the closet gay alien, just moronic 3) the stereotypical black guy theme peppered throughout the movie, I would have found that very offensive if I were black 4)the tiny Eddie talking to a crowd of people form the large Eddie-spaceships tongue, i mean how could anybody hear a 1cm alien whisper talking 10 metres away!! 5)the aliens look, act, talk the same as Humans, this just showed no imagination and lack of care 6)the noises and behavior and ability of spaceship-Dave seems to go unquestioned by all the characters. Somebody who can eat 30 huge hot dogs in like 5 seconds, i am sure, would arouse suspicion.
I know I am being very critical of this movie and I am aware that the movie is meant to be a light, silly comedy. However, the movie is a perfect paradigm of everything that is wrong with Hollywood these days - ignorance and laziness. -

This was no-where near as funny as I expected it to be. Virtually all the funny bits are in the trailer - so if you've seen that, the film is hardly worth watching. The children enjoyed it though.

Just looking at the reviews it looks absolutly rubbish none of is jokes have actually made me laugh anyway it just isnt a comedy saw you can just call the film a disaster the acting is completely wrong well its nothing new Eddie Murphy is in it the only films hes actually done over average in is the Shrek movies and The golden Child.
