Whatta Great movie one of the best movies of all time. I was so cool to whatch the fights. De Niro did an amazing work with his acting and his weight.
this is a great movie. widely considered one of the top sports films of all time, it lives up to its reputation. deniro deserved his oscar as his performance was brilliant and joe pesci gave possibly the best performance of his career. this is one of my favorite sports films, but it did suffer from a few problems. for much of the film the story didnt feel like it was going anywhere. it was telling a story but you arent to sure why, so when the climax hit i was left wondering if that was really the climax or not. this is why as a boxing movie cinderella man is superior, you feel the point from the start of the film. it is still brilliant however, and this film is a great study on human anger, jelousy, and violence. it is a great film on how a person can let life get away from them even in success.
Brilliant film,a classic. The story was amazing and the fight scenes were very well done. One of DeNiro,s best performances.
Bruising, beatiful and never bettered showcase for DeNiro's once legendary physical immersion into a role. I'm not just talking about weight gain: look into those eyes and try telling us they're anyone elses apart from Jake LaMottas...
Easily, one of De Niro's best performances and one of the most resounding films that employs a lot of the director's constant themes and yet, making it beautiful and powerful in its portrayal. The film has this old school vibe, in fact it gave me some nouvelle vague feel at moments, especially early on, looking like a piece by Godard, especially the way his character is crafted. It gives us a more subjective interpretation led by environment and atmosphere and which is more satisfying in the end if you ask me. And even this subjective id driven by our own base instincts at any time and that drives our thought for this film and our continuous thought of this film thereafter. Also, I think that redemption is hardly the theme here, what is redeemed? I think the effect and cause of this film is more than that or at least different.
Martin Scorsese made the greatest movie ever.
Robert De Niro is magnificiant in the role of his career.
Brutal bio-pic about the less-than-likable Middle Weight Champion Jake LaMotta. Raging Bull isn't so much a film with about boxing as it is a film about redemption. Scorsese does not protect us from the brutality of the ring or from the brutality of LaMotta's personal life, we are in there with the unstable Jake LaMotta as he goes from the pinnacle of boxing to a low-life stand up comedian. This movie is not an easy watch, but still highly recommended viewing.
This is the best movie of all time. Whoever hasn't seen it, should ASAP.
