    Another great Pixar film

Pixar has done it again. Wall-E, Pixar's 9th feature film, is another great one. It has a terrific storyline that is both funny and heartfelt.

Wall-E, which stands for Waste Allocator Load Lifter - Earth Class, is a lonely robot that has been on Earth for hundreds of years, programmed to clean up the mess humans left behind. It got so bad that humans actually had to leave the planet. One day a spacecraft lands and a robot named EVE starts to explore Earth. Wall-E is immediately smitten with her. When the spacecraft comes back to get her, Wall-E follows along, and unwittingly becomes involved in an exciting adventure.

You may have heard that large portions of the film do not have human dialogue in them, but please don't let that discourage you from seeing the film. The lack of dialogue really works and some of the best scenes do not contain human dialogue. There are some messages in the movie involving such things as environmentalism, global warming, and what could happen to our planet if we continue down our current path. A small percentage of people didn't seem to like that, but the overwhelming majority of people will enjoy this film regardless.

This film is entertaining for both adults and children, which explains its widespread appeal. It's good enough to watch multiple times. One of the better films of 2008, Wall-E is definitely worth checking out.

I really enjoyed every single second of this movie, and I'm not even a big fan of animation. In fact it's the first time that I'd give an animation such a high rating. WALL-E is so lovable and cute. The story is simple but meaningful. I must say this is a must see for everyone.

A lovely, elegiac film with a few laughs, a lovable goof of a leading man and one of the most jarringly quiet opening forty-five minutes since talkies came into their own.

Wow, I can't believe how emotional this was considering that in first half of an hour there are only two robots, one bug, one plant, and two words! Go figure.
And, I must say, when captain walked, I cried!
    Really beautiful.

I don't know how Pixar does it but they keep raising the bar in animated movie entertainment with each additional release. Although the speaking parts in the movie really don't start until midway, this by no means diminishes the communication (or lack thereof) in this movie. Wall-e shows us all that we all need companionship and that one is truly the loneliest number of them all. The movie also serves as a cautionary tale of what lies ahead for us in the future if in fact we don't get out of the chair and off the couch and move our bodies from time to time. A great movie with a great message, what's not to like? I absolutely can't wait until this movie is released on DVD!

Pixar has produced some of the best animation in the past decade with its computer-generated features (Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and Finding Nemo) that have been marked by strong story lines and vivid characters. The tradition continues in an impressive way with Wall-E. This deceptively simple tale is transformed by the emotional content told almost entirely through visuals.

A polluted Earth has become uninhabitable for 700 years, and one of its only residents is Wall-E, a small robot whose solitary mission is to be a mobile, trash compactor. In his work, he also finds and collects trivial, odd artifacts of mankind's past such as a Rubik's cube. He comforts himself with an old video, Hello Dolly, and as he learns about humans and his yearning for love, it becomes his idyllic vision of happiness amid an insulated, dull existence. Along his travels, he comes across a unique find, a live plant! One day a spaceship lands and deposits a robot probe. Fascinated by this kindred machine, Wall-E follows and eventually befriends this unit known as Eve. Eve has a directive that will hopefully return humans to Earth if only it can sustain life, and Wall-E's plant figures immeasurably. Eve is returned to her mother ship with Wall-E frantically chasing after his newly found love. On a spaceship acting as a living city for its machine-dependent, overweight humans, little robots are not only the caregivers, but in control. Wall-E and Eve must figure a way to return the humans to earth and find happiness even if it means making the ultimate sacrifice.

Wall-E's innocence and childlike wonder (think E.T.), as exemplified by how he introduces himself to everyone he meets, could almost have sprung from Steven Spielberg's imagination. It's in the small details that enrich Wall-E as a character. He brings to mind an amalgam of past robots like Star Wars' R2-D2 and the little robots in Silent Running, and his fears and joys are expressed through body language and squeals. When he shuts down each night to sleep, he rocks himself as a child would. He is clumsy around Eve, and when he takes her to his makeshift home of robot parts and paraphernalia, he is like a little kid. Ironically, he is the catalyst to bring the humans back home.

Writer and director, Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo), takes a huge risk by basing the film's premise almost entirely on a song from Hello Dolly. I can't think of an animated film that relied so much on visual storytelling. Even Fantasia and Allegro Non Troppo were collections of musical sequences not narrative features. In a way, this film is almost too sophisticated in its display and execution for little kids but is just right for adults. Remarkably, this is a tale with nary a spoken word by the principals. One has to think of silent films to approach this achievement. The operative word here is pathos like the best of Charlie Chaplin's little tramp and, amazingly, this film earns its stripes by emoting body language, action, and sound effects. Yet most of the characters aren't even human!

Fred Willard has an amusing small role as the corporate president. Sigourney Weaver, as the ship's computer voice, is an inspired choice since, like Eve, she was a female hero (in the Alien movies) and had to deal with computer voices in those films. The animation is almost 3-D in its rich detail and simulated, fluid camera-work. The interior of the mother ship, the Axiom, is a futuristic view of a commercialized (think Blade Runner) city in space.

Yes, it is a thinly veiled message for all those 'save the earth' and 'think green' people, but that never detracts from the main theme of saving humanity amid a touching love story. There are moments when you think a scene could have played out a bit better, but that is minor. It is likely that Wall-E's reputation will grow over time as a shining example of stretching the art form by challenging and trusting its audience. Bravo to the folks at Pixar for taking a chance and for entertaining and moving us.

This a really great Movie. I believe that it is an eye-opener for us to keep our environment healthy and clean.

After watching it in the cinema, now I can fully review WALL-E. It's amazing! The animation is beyond spectacular. Really realistic to the details. Some parts of the story are really, really funny. Though, those parts aren't that much either along the movie.

Well, from my point of view, WALL-E is wonderfully cute. WALL-E and EVE are one of the greatest example of two beings in love with each other. It extends human feelings to the deepest. But expecting that it'd be a completely cute movie, I was rather alienated cause actually not the whole movie seems to be like that. The theme is darker than previous Pixar's movies and in some parts or another, and I had myself difficult to relate with the robotic/future theme and the background music and also the sound effects, etc. But eventually, I can manage to enjoy the movie very much. Besides, some of the music is really beautiful though. Actually, watching WALL-E is more like watching The Incredibles, rather than watching Ratatouille or Finding Nemo. It's fun, it's action, yet it's deep.. and dark.

Despite my difficulty to relate with the theme, WALL-E is really breathtaking in many aspects and I cried many times throughout the whole story coz I just feel that it's so wonderful to watch such a drawing of a simple yet deep feeling between two robots. And it's what is really strong in the movie, i.e. the message of love. LoL. It's cliche, but it is LOV-E. :D

Yes, I had a great experience watching WALL-E although I kinda expected the ending would be longer or as great or greater or more exciting than Ratatouille's finest ending, but it seem that I didn't get it. The last scenes of the movie seem too flat for me. There are not much characters development. All suddenly becomes so white, and so black in the end, and that is not really interesting to see. In other words, WALL-E himself is very cute, you don't want something harmful happen to him, but in another side, after seeing him lots of time, I think he will tend to be boring with his not-so-rich personality.

BTW... I love MO!! :D he's so compulsive!! HAHAHA.

    == Updated/Revised ==

About the ending, after having some thought, I come to understanding why the ending has to be like that. WALL-E is made with a very old-classic feeling inside. And even if it shares story about robots and the future, its own packaging is very classic, like a love themed film from the 50s or earlier. Since it's made that way, I do feel that the ending of WALL-E excels for a reason. It suits perfectly to the whole style it's intended to be made as. Still, besides WALL-E and EVE, I don't feel too much character development on the other characters, which I think such a waste. But it really deserves the best rating. 5/5.

So WALL-E is a kids film? Well at least so its being presented as anyways, I have a hard time saying its just for kids though. Pixar really puts the G in the General rating because it is for EVERYONE, plus theres hardly even any talking in it, that takes a lot of balls for a supposed kids movie. WALL-E has landed as my new favorite Pixar film. Sorry Finding Nemo, you got beat.

This is, in my opinion, Disney Pixar's greatest offering yet, which is saying a lot, considering the fantastic calibre of their back catalogue. The studio's most ambitious project since Toy Story, it is a cautionary tale about our treatment of our planet and the environment, and the extent to which our reliance on technology is making us lazy and will get out of control, it also manages to be funny and touching in exactly the right doses, with amazing visuals. Utterly brilliant

The diffrence between Pixar's and DreamWork's 3D animation are clear. While DW loves to make funny movies (crude humor most of all) with many famous voice talents (which the characters have been made as similar as possible to the real actors), Pixar likes to make a simple story which really enjoyable for kids (sometimes DW's story can only be understood by mature audiences), with deep meanings, and fantastic details of animation.

And this time Pixar did it again.
Wall-E is a very touching and romantic animation. Very simple story about 2 robots who fell in love accidentally.

Not many dialogue nedded to describe the story (esp among the robots, but the humans... of course those are needed).

But the things that really caught me up is the main message delivered.
Do u really want to see our beloved earth to be just like buildings of trashes?
Do u really want to live your entire life in a spaceship called AXIOM with all u need is available? But remember, live in that spaceship, makes you the laziest beings ever made. Less move, more unhealth foods. Wow, doesn't surprised they all become fat and wreckless. See the "in Memoriam pics" on the Captain's room. They all died young.
Maybe at first glance, the situation in AXIOM is fun. Great and sophisticated interior designs, with everything u needed is served straight to u.
Sounds great, but no... I don't want to live that way. Seems like now you have been the ship's slave. Do whatever they want. Told u that the blue is the new red? Hmmmm thank u very much.
    I still love my earth.
And for now on, I'll preserve it as I can.

I have seen a bunch of films and I think this is one of the best movies ever made. I am so in love with WALL-E. The first 30 minutes are some of the best ever put on screen. The animation is beautiful, but the love story is truly timeless.
