| The Dark Knight | After a slightly awkward start - The Joker is introduced twice, the second being far more effective than the first and Batman is reintroduced in a really clunky scene involving The Scarecrow - this (un)settles into one of the most promising thriller/summer blockbuster/comicbook films you could ever wish to see.Ledger's Joker is the films crowning glories in more ways than one. Yes, his performance is incredible; unnerving, blackly funny and scary, all at once, all of the time - he never slips. But as good as he is its to Nolans credit how memorable a villain this version of The Joker will become. Because he is a genuinely dangerous and brutal adversary. Not hampered with plans for world domination or great personal wealth he's not easy to read and even harder to catch. Each and every attempt to capture him plays into his hands (no more so when they actually have him behind bars). Its so refreshing to not only believe that a villain can inspire fear in the protagonists but to actually share the feeling. This man doesn't just rob banks or plan easily foiled elaborate traps for the hero to escape from - he is a psycopathic murderer. Compare him to any other villain in the genre and none of them come close (it highlights just how neutered the so-called bad guys Spider-Man faces in those films). He's beyond just being comicbook-movie good, he rates with the likes of Jon Doe and Chigurh. The film also swerves other genre cliches - the staple "I can't do this anymore" is not only short lived but also, for once, understandable. Whereas Perter Parker contiually whines about having to be Spider-Man because he's in love with his highschool sweatheart, here Bruce Wayne has his blown-up in a truely jaw-droppingly cruel twist courteousy of The Joker. Ledger isn't the only addition to the cast that deserves applause - Aaron Eckhart provides a welcome soul to a franchise with a hero who is alternatively arrogant or surly for a lot of his screen time. | The Dark Knight | the movie had absoloutley no plot line, it's overrated, & batman still sounds like a heavy smoker. all the characters stories are messed up. the only good part about the entire movie was the joker. Health Ledgers was incredible. i would not recommend this movie. But if you do see it, remember- spiderman can save both. | sofi50f | Jul 21, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | its pretty darn good. but i didnt enjoy it as much as i thought i would. well, the whole movie moves at an incredible pace. so many things going on at once for such a long time, but not hard to follow. its just so the viewer never gets bored. wouldve liked to see more of the joker. yeah heath did great like everyone said. really liked the change in harvey dent/ two face. overall a higher quality action film. now i need to see it at an imax theater. | fb20004964 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Much darker than Batman Begins. Lots of good vs. bad suspense and action. The movie's hype and was heightened as Heath Ledger's swan song, and it delivered indeed. And, I always love Christian Bale. Go see it. | fb617493567 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Dude! The best batman movie yet! The Joker was nuts! Very good character work for Heath Ledger. I know super heros are cool and what not, but this movie is not for kids. | fb539492808 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | The most intense movie I've ever seen! Went to the midnight show and it was packed out! My mouth was litterally dropped during the entire movie in awe... | fb1008090091 | Aug 5, 2007 |
| The Dark Knight | I mean it was ok. This movie is highly over rated. Yea Heath Ledger did a good job of acting insane but i expected better. Weak plot development | fb64900740 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | once again, the bar has been raised! iron man was a fun superhero movie, kung fu panda was a great story and very well animated, but the dark knight hits another level with quality acting and social commentary. | fb520199072 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | I've anticipated this film for over a year. The entire time, I expected the perfect movie. Ironically enough, it was better than perfect! | fb570988725 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | So good, it'll give you a Batgasm. It's the best Batman movie ever, the best superhero movie ever, and straight-up one of the best movies ever. I don't care who you are or how Batman-inclined you are. If you like movies that are good, stop reading this review and see it. | fb1249140082 | Feb 13, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Was pretty cool. Horrible casting, the only member of the cast that I actually thought was good was Heath Ledger, everyone else was casted terribly. I really wasn't expecting to like it, in my book the only Batman is Michael Keaton, the only Two-Face is Tommy Lee Jones, and the true Joker will always be Jack Nicholson, but overall was better than I had expected. They could have easily done a better job, but with audiences these days, there's only so much you can do, I suppose. | dooferdafr3ak | May 12, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | This was AWESOME !!! I have already seen it three times... Heath Ledger was perfect as the joker. No one will ever be the joker in my eyes. He was perfect for this role. The film had a great story and great action. You have to see this movie...a couple times. | fb545847534 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | I don't think I've EVER seen a better role than Heath Ledger as the Joker! This has to be rated as one of the best movies ever! | fb1243374259 | Jul 16, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | This is a tough one. I thought it was done exceptionally well, but the violence is entirely too much. Crrrreeepy and very "real". Heath Ledger was very convincing as Joker, and Christian Bale was excellent as well. | fb682461476 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | It's worth seeing it just for the creative violence alone. But if you need more reason than that, Heath Ledger's performance is amazing. Way more creepy than Tim Burton's version. I want to marry this movie and have its babies. | Nerolista167432835 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | I really want to give this a 5 but there's one minor thing that bugs me about it. It's very very well done, everyone is great in it, etc. It could have used more of a focus on batman in my opinion, but that is minor and not my major issue. I still like Begins more but this one is like just behind it in awesomeness. Go see it. | fb564562480 | Feb 28, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Incredible storyline! Ending was good! I don't like the story involving Harvey Dent though, his development is too fast, too sudden. | fb649850106 | Jul 18, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | A superhero movie that feels more like a dark gritty crime flick reminiscence of The Departed. While everyone in the cast manages to bring their 'A' game, special mention must be given to Heath Ledger who created a more sinister version of Jack Nicholson's Joker. While the plot is solid, there's some pacing issues - the climax of the film is relatively weak compared to other parts of the film and the 'birth' of Two-Face was left too late in the film which created a rushed resolution at the end. Still the best Batman movie since the Tim Burton versions. | fb628731954 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Awesome! Great screenplay, amazing cast, a plot with plenty of surprises that keeps you guessing and always on the edge of your seat. Go see this movie! Seriously. | fb672650204 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Before I go all Grant Winestock on this film's arse, I would like to say tht I DID enjoy it and I DID think it was a good film, Three stars isn't shabby for a scrooge like me, believe. I had some issues with this though, obviously. I thought it was ahorrently long and drawn out, I thought Batman's 'batman voice' was comical to the extreme (read: disrtacting), and I though the 'computer' visualization bull-shit was bull-shit. By this 'computer visualization' I mean that sort of matrix like realm the film would occasionally jump into (every mobile phone in Gotham is monitored.) Despite not really seeing the point of this at all, it just looked cheesy. I hate when films try to wow us with the 'advanced technology' that it's characters are capable of with computers. It just reminds me of watching a fim from the 90's where they're on the 'web' (and the 'web' talks to them, and announces their incoming mail, and they have 3D avatars that walk around cyberspace and such...) Every time Batman's eyes would go all glowy white and he (and we) would see the scene all 'computery' there was really nothing apparent to gain from it. In fact, I think Batman got kicked or punched every time he did this... yet he kept doing it. ANYWAY. I might have missed a lot of the reasons behind these things, especially by this point because I felt like I had been sitting in the theatre for eighteen years and nothing was really getting thorugh to me. I'll have to see it again, the film, maybe in two sittings and really try to make heads and tales of most of it after a certain point. The other thing that really bugged me though was that my beloved Gotham, the eccentric, dark, gothic city that is as much a part of Batman, to me, as... Batman... was very obviously Chicago. The film seemed to spend no time or thought in devloping the city whatsoever. Aside from changing the names on a few buildings and putting 'GDP' on the police cars, I felt like this was an apect they totally decided to igore or forgoe... which is a shame in my books and takes off an entire star from my rating. | fb72604120 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | this is a masterpiece, the ultimate Batman movie. Ledger provides the greatest and most emotional performance of last times, and Eckart is great too. I kept my breath for 140 minutes. Wow | uglykidjoerules | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | A masterpiece. Director, Christopher Nolan continues to bring out the best in the series the way it was meant to be. It ranks with crime classics like Heat and The Departed and marks as the best and most mature comic book adaptation ever. A stunning, riveting, powerful and brlliant epic classic. A compelling, electrifying, astonishing and breathtaking film. A spectacular edge of your seat action-packed thrill-machine. Loads of captivating suspense, heat-stopping tension and mind-blowing action. It's a magnificent and ingeious piece of work thats shockingly disturbing and a unique character study. An awsome and fantastic movie. It's teriffic, gripping, deeply moving and absolutely unforgettable. A tremendous cast of actors who all deliver the goods. Christian Bale is excellent once again in the lead role of Batman. Aaron Eckhart is teriffic. Maggie Gyllenhaal is marvelous. Michael Caine is magnificent. Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are fantastic. Heath Ledger is sensational, he gives a superb, memerising, increadiably chilling and unforgettable performance. A breathtaking show stealer giving his last and most completed work. A groundbreaking and classic performance. An incrediable and utterly outstanding adreniline-rush from begining to end. It just keeps you wanting more. It's The Godfather part 2 of comic book sequels. | allan913 | Sep 29, 2007 |
| The Dark Knight | Holy. Crap. This movie was amazing. Was it perfect? No. Is any movie? No. I can't even honestly call this a "superhero" movie, since every decision Batman makes backfires horribly, not to mention the setup events for part 3. This is more a morality play with heavy crime drama influence. And it is about as opposite from the sunny nature of "Iron Man" as one can get. Heath Ledger is obviously getting alot of praise for his Joker, and deservedly so. But honestly, almost EVERYONE gives an incredible performance. And yes, Christian Bale's Batman sounds like he swallowed a pound of burning sandpaper. Deal with it. | KingNinja64621566 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | wow...it's really the best "superhero movie" ever made, and not only that, the best movie of '08 so far...it has depth and you care about the characters...Ledger gives us an iconic characterization of a twisted villain and his (Joker's) sense of humour make us smile at really grim situations...Christopher Nolan, one of the most visionary directors of this time, gives us a masterpiece not only at the "superhero movie" level but at the "crime/gangster/thriller" level... | fb748128589 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | I saw the IMAX version and was blown away. This movie is a must see. Heath Ledger, God rest his soul, made the perfect joker. If you have not seen it, you need to see it. This movie is going to be consider to be a classic like the Godfather. | fb618671780 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | The Joker, who is one of the most evil antagonist against Batman, makes me shiver. Heath Ledger's performance is perfect. From the beginning of the movie till the end, the Joker has planned for each little step. The plot by the Joker is really brilliant. | fb510421206 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Heath Ledger gives the best perfomance I've ever seen in my entire life. It's so much better than Nicholson's Joker, leaps and bounds actually. Wow. The movie itself would get a 4 (slow beginning, and you never understand a word Batman says, making for some unintentional laughs) but Ledger's performance is a 5 1/2 so I thought 4 1/2 stars would suffice. | fb600398032 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | what a sweet movie!!! heath ledger is a freakin badass and he redeems himself for that gay cowboy shit. must see for everyone especially in IMAX. trust me its awesome....." I'm a man of my word" | fb516060099 | Jul 30, 2007 |
| The Dark Knight | I was really super excited about this movie! However, I was afraid that it was hyped up too much, like so many other movies. But it lived up to the ratings and comments from people...it was really enjoyable. My only complaint is that it was really long. All the actors were amazing at each of their characters! I think all people on earth should see this movie! | fb1313247244 | Jul 19, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Best movie I've seen all year. Definitely did not disappoint. Not only was Heath Ledger amazing , but I have a new reason to love Aaron Eckhart. I can't wait for the next movie. | fb1304237419 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Not quite as good as the hype. IMAX is very cool, but plot gets all twisted on itself in the middle of the movie. Also: why so serious? | fb1249935346 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Holy shit! This movies is by far my favorite of the Batman movies. Heath Ledger(R.I.P) takes the cake for giving one of the best performances... ever! However, Aaron Eckhart also gives a brilliant performance and with a little help from the CGI department gives a more satisfying look at a classic villian than Tommy Lee Jones' performance. Christian Bale also is terrific and has definetly taken the Batman crown away from Val Kilmer. THIS IS A MUST SEE!!!! GO SEE IT!!!! NOW!!!! | fb56709285 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | one of the best movies i have seen..Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker..if he was still alive there would have been a sequel or a spin off for sure..must see it again in IMAX!! | fb48305796 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Would I blow everyone's mind if I thought Batman Begins was better than this one? Now, don't get me wrong, Heath Ledger's Joker was absolutely, out of this world AMAZING. But as far as the actual movie itself, I just never felt for the characters as strongly as I did in the first one...or at all. But still worth viewing, several times. | fb41703520 | Mar 11, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | I've seen all "Batman" movies that came out in recent years, and I certainly am not going to miss this one. It has an all-star cast, as usual, not to mention the added significance that this is Heath Ledger's final performance... | fb662858995 | Jun 27, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Unbelievably awesome. Best Joker ever. It's a shame there won't be another one to follow with Ledger. | fb1219038097 | Jul 22, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | It's the best superhero movie ever no one has gotten this close to perfection. I didn't like the girl and am glad she is dead. Harvey Dent is still alive don't let his death in the movie fool you he signed on for two movies....Hey get off facebook you are wasting time you could be seeing it again. | fb540725420 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | This movie is brilliant. If you like suspense/action/humor/gadgets/coolness don't miss out on this movie. | fb511478110 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | One of the Best Batman Movies ever!! Heath Ledger takes on sick twisted villain as the Joker in this movie, Someone nobody wants to be around if He does not get his way. Every little skeem he does, every little crime is pre thought of by the Joker and is planned out precisely for people to get hurt or die. With his evil laugh and his wicked sense of humor, The Joker is definately messed up and is one person you would not want to cross paths with. Christian Bale as the Batman and Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two Face, Gary Oldman as Comissioner Gordon You feel a sense of pity for these characters at the hands of The Joker's killing spree. Maggie Gyllanhaal, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine all added to this wonderful movie that has alot of suspense, drama, thrills n chills. This truly shows Heath Ledgers acting abilities shine thru, I beleive his performance truly deserves an oscar nomination. | JojoBeaver | Feb 10, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | I saw this movie the moment it came out at midnight, and I loved it! I identify with the jokers insanity and two-faces self conflict. | fb1311188505 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | not much else there is to say now is there? ledger was god like, i actually liked bale in this one, it didn't have any cheesy superhero moments...it just rocked | fb516110753 | Jul 15, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | as a die-hard Oldman fan, i am going "arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Comissioner James Gordon!!" :) although i did look twice at my watch(halfway through the film), the leads gave compelling performances, especially Ledger, i didn't recognize him at all! The Dark Knight is by far the best Batman film ever made. | chiangg | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | "Magic Pencil Trick" Best (and darkest) Batman Movie of all time! IMO - Almost got an "R" rating if a couple of dark scenes extended - even though there were no swear words used | fb1372040709 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | This movie was thrilling and chilling. It asks some provocative questions about good and evil, crime and justice, right and wrong, chaos and order, while not offering up any trite answers, if any. Grim and worth the wait, the film picks up not too long after the closing moments of Batman Begins. Batman and Gotham PD Lt. James Gordon join forces with Gotham's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known only as The Joker, whilst other forces plot against them, and Joker's crimes grow more and more deadly. The Clown Prince of Crime believes that Gotham City deserves a better class of criminal and his reign of terror leads to the creation of Two Face, a twisted vigilante just as unpredictable as the Joker himself. | fb159900844 | Sep 14, 2007 |
| The Dark Knight | The bes superhero movie i have seen ever.
The Joker is in it, it is obvios its going to be the best comic book movie ever
THE JOKER LOOKS SCARY AND THATS THE WAY I ALLWAYS WANTED TO SEE IT. |

| The Dark Knight | This film is nothing short of brilliant in every possible way, acting, directing and script. Ledger is outstanding. I had my doubts bout how good his performance would be, to be truthful I thought the Oscar talk was due more to his untimely death than his actual work but I was wrong. He becomes the Joker in this film. He is nothing short of mesmerising. Bale is once again great as Batman/Bruce Wayne and how can you go wrong with Caine and Freeman? Eckhart does a nice job as Harvey Dent/Two Face. Finally Gyllenhall is an improvement over Holmes. The storyline itself is typical Superhero fare on the surface (albeit very engaging, well done superhero fare) but upon further inspection actually raises some very interesting issues and explores some very intriguing concepts. To sum it up, one outstanding movie. The bar has been raised for this genre. | fb690020936 | May 11, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | I loved the performance of both of these actors. I loved how the Joker keeps coming even when he's out for the count. This was one of the best Batman movies ever! | HH350628486 | Jul 19, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Dark, disturbing, fun special effects (especially the big rig being flipped from end to end). Eckhart and Bale nailed their roles, and Ledger's performance was definitely not overhyped. How in the world was he able to do all of those facial expressions!? Absolutely amazing! | fb780983382 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Dark is definitley the right word. An entertaining movie with great performances by Heath Ledger and Morgan Freeman. Over the top sometimes and some corny dialogue but generally good. Some terrific action sequences and special effects. | fb588081043 | Jul 23, 2008 |
| The Dark Knight | Loved the movie thought it was great but me being such a sucker i cried through most of the movie not that it was sad but seeing Heath Ledger in his last movie and it being a hit brought the tears on. I recommed everyone see it! Loved that two-face was in it but didnt like that he died right away when batman did the same thing and got right back up.....kind of weird but good. Loved the moral on it and didnt like that batman took the blame for Harvey Dent I really dont think people are that dumb but i got what he was gettin at. Wondering how they are gonna put joker in the next one since they didnt kill him but the actor is gone.....strange but hope they dont try to get another actor to do it that wouldnt be right.....Anyway all together GREAT MOVIE!!!! | dcc93 | Jul 23, 2008 |
